“Wild Blue could be the sensual soundtrack to a marvelous, poet-lead, moonlit adventure. Pan Morigan’s voice wails, sails, cartwheels, back flips, sashays, dives, soars and absolutely inspires. Tight composition. Luscious lyrics. Well done!” Lenelle Moise (Poet Laureate, performance artist, playwright, and musician)
“As both singer and songwriter, her music evokes in me what only a small number of artists ever have. I believe the world needs to hear her music; it’s beautiful and compelling. Her song forms, when heard, will catalyze the next branch of evolutionary development in song-writing.” Roger Treece, multiple grammy winner, and producer/composer of Bobby McFerrin’s new album ‘Vocabularies.’
Like the shutter of a camera, you can hear Pan Morigan point the lens inward as she captures photographs of her Gypsy travels, showing us the secrets of her soul as she sings through time. Images of deserts and night fire, wind and rain, tears and the joy of wisdom… She wails into the night with “Blue is the Color,” and cradles us through to the dawn with “ Written and Erased”. A true gift to all who listen… Lisa Fischer, Award Winning vocalist, (Soloist, and performer with Sting, The Rolling Stones, Chris Botti, Chaka Khan, etc.)
…nine intoxicating tracks showcase her passionate, shimmering, expressive vocals. A multi-instrumentalist, Morigan is also a deft and poetic lyricist, whose musings on love, creativity and mortality soar over graceful grooves. “Night,” a sultry jazz ballad, coaxes celebration from shadows, while the lilting child’s play of “Peach” conjures the power of words. Pan Morigan’s music stirs and eases body, mind and spirit, providing an inspiring soundtrack for challenging times. WILD BLUE is fast becoming my new favorite album. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. ‘Neph’ – 5-star CDBaby review
PEACH makes me want to get out and make something beautiful. The poetry of the language, the flight of the vocals, the magic of the arrangements makes WILD BLUE a surprise every time you listen. Each song sounds like my favorite. Wisdom and passion, insight and delicious harmonies. WILD BLUE is music for your heart and your head. It’s like you’ve never heard this sound before, and then it’s the music of your spirit! Darice Light – CDBaby review
Pan Morigan’s voice and her songs–transgressive, truly boundary-free–melted my in my ears, then melted my heart. WILD BLUE is a labor of love and profound musical insight, a lifetime of music in each wild-blue, resonating beat. Thank you, Pan Morigan, for opening your heart and letting this album fly out. It deserves more than a listen. It deserves download! RECOMMENDED. Liz Roberts - CDBaby review

Storytelling and music have been intertwined branches of Irish culture since the days of the bards, which is probably why the mix of story and song on Castles of Gold fits together so smoothly. Musician, composer and arranger Pan Morigan and playwright Katerie Morin convey the tale of the Irish immigration to America through a well-chosen collection of traditional songs, sensitively written originals, and spoken word recitations based on Morin’s family’s memories about their emigration from Ireland. The stories are read by Roma Downey, star of Touched by an Angel, and Frank McCourt, author of Angela’s Ashes and ‘Tis. Morigan herself sings the songs backed by an all-star band of Irish musicians, including fiddler Liz Carroll, accordionist John Whelan, and uilleann piper Jerry O’Sullivan. The sound is decidedly contemporary Celtic, with percussively strummed acoustic guitars and exotic percussion, but it effectively evokes the mix of excitement and sorrow the original emigrants must have felt as they set off to America for a new life, perhaps never to see their families again. – Amazon Editorial Review: By Michael Simmons
